Recently we had a chance to visit the Transcarpathia - amazing, unique, not like the other, and a very beautiful region. But mostly we were struck not unique architecture, not wonderful nature, not a traditional cuisine, but ... people. They are very friendly, polite, tolerant, always willing to help. But most of all we were impressed by their relation to memory. In village Janusz, Beregovyi district locals gathered personal funds and protected the old Jewish cemetery. Maybe it was the early end of the village, but now this place was almost at its center. Also in the center of the village Gat fenced Jewish cemetery. And the locals there clean, mow the grass, paint the fence. We would like to note that there are no Jews in these villages. In Mukachevo was restored, great old Jewish cemetery. For many years there was a vacant lot, and before that - parking communal machines. Parking same "tradition", arranged directly to the cemetery. In 2014, at the expense of family, once people buried here, we built a memorial in honor of those killed during the Nazi occupation. Perhaps we need to learn from these people their ability to remember and honor the memory of those who once lived in this area, regardless of nationality and religion, and in fact on the territory of our country, the Volyn region are many burial places of people with no one to remember ...

And finally ... Yesterday visited the old Jewish cemetery and place of execution of about 4 thousand Jews - inhabitants of village Torchyn. One day metal fence was stolen. We restored it (wooden made), and now someone has broken already restored. At this point, grazing livestock, and the old Jewish cemetery each year, "getting on" gardens of local residents.
