One day Don Davidovych Shoyhetman brought to our community a wonderful collection of old vinyl records, and we thought: Why not? That`s how the idea was born.
After a short time of preparation we enjoyed the specific crisp and hissing sound of old Yiddish and Russian music.
That was breathtaking!
Our Compere (Guessed who?), Detective Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr. Watson, with the help of deduction accurately determined musical tastes of the audience.
Romance, tango, rock'n'roll, blues, jazz, country, lyrical songs, soundtracks to movies and cartoons - we listened to it with joy. Each one not only sang along his favourite songs, but shared the information about them: the history, author, singer and composer.
Though the main theme was the music, we didn`t stop only on it.
The guests read poetry - both famous poets and their own compositions. Also everyone took part in funny competitions, showing extraordinary approaches.
The party was a complete success!
Thanks to all who organized, carried out and assisted in carrying out this great event!!! It is good that people cherish records, remember and sing songs written on them. Eventually, the vinyl records are alive, while these songs are still living.
