8 November this year Vladimir-Volynsk Historical Museum exposition created a presentation by a representative of our community initiatives V.Muzychenko and dedicated to Righteous Among the Nations of the city of Vladimir-Volynsk and district. The presentation was attended by museum researchers, pupils, wife of Vladimir-Volyn Righteous, Maria Vavrysevych, representatives of the Jewish community. From among 22,000 Jews of the city during the Holocaust survived only about 150 people, 115 of whom were rescued by righteous. Researchers museum Doskoch G. and B. Yanovych told the audience about the Jewish community of the city and her tragic death, and those who risked their lives saving doomed to destruction innocent people should not. Maria Vavrysevych shared memories of rescue Jews in her family, her husband and family. Addressing the audience, Vladimir Muzichenko noted that the number of the Righteous, from 42 countries, Ukraine is fourth after Poland, the Netherlands and France. According to the latest 2515 Righteous among those who are awarded this high rank in Ukraine, there are 80 of Vladimir-Volyn and district. He also spoke about the salvation of Ukrainian family of his mother, whose family was killed by Nazis and their henchmen of the local police. A. Stemkovskyy sang the song "Atikva", and performed the violin " Yerushalayem Shel Zahav." We sincerely appreciate the historical museum workers for organizing and conducting presentations, training exposure, and to all who took the time to come and be present at the event.
