On June 29-30 this year a big event took place that was preceded with three years of work. Under the project "Let's protect the memory" joined with American Jewish Committee in the West Ukraine territory there were 5 memorial complexes opened (three in Volyn region, one in Rovno region and one in Lvov region) in memory of Jews who had died there during the mass shooting in the Second World War. The members of our community were present at the opening of four of it - in the Kysylyn village of Lokachi area, in Ostrozhets of Mlyniv area Rivne region, in Prokhyd of Ratne area and in Bakhiv of Kovel area. It is encouraging that despite the many challenges we managed to mount these memorial complexes. There were not only people in that villages and towns destroyed - the whole life with its traditions, holidays, its language people were talking, praying was ruined.

Since 70 years at these places in mournful silence, the memorial prayer of rabbis had been sounding...
We hope this project will be in progress and not the only one memorial will be installed at the places of the mass shooting in Volyn region. The deceased need our remembrance and our prayer...
